About personal solicitation
This is what we know:
--  Face-to-face solicitation produced significantly higher gifts than other types of solicitation.
--  Nearly 1/2 of the largest gifts from households are less than $250.
--  On average, the largest gift represents 65% of the household's total giving for the year.
--  Donors gave the highest gifts when asked in person by someone they knew.
Read the whole report, just like I said last week in this blog. "Significant Gifts: Where Donors Direct Their Largest Gifts and Why." Researched and written by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Sponsored by Campbell & Company.
I'm linking you to the Center's website. Click on "most current research" and then click on "giving and volunteering." I'm not giving you the specific link to the specific piece of research. Why? Because I think you need to visit the Center's website. Regularly. I think you need to see the other research and pick some more stuff to read. All that is up to you.
